National mixed doubles shuttler Peck Yen Wei is waiting with trepidation to find out who she will choose as her next partner.Yen Wei is currently not paired with a person since her former partner Chen Tang Jie put together to Yap Ling. The 26-year-old was informed that she will discover with whom she'll be working with after she has fully recovered from an ankle injury suffered by a left foot.
Currently my coaches are yet to choose whom will be my next partner. They would like me to fully recover from my ankle injury before having discussions about this. I've started my practicing on the court with my foot and it is 60% to 70 percent healed. I believe it could require another one or two weeks to be completely healed, said Yen Wei.
In regards to whether she had preference for her partners, Yen Wei added: It's really not my responsibility to choose as a handful players have already been in a relationship. In this case it's hard to select one who already has an existing partner since they'll have to be separated. Therefore, coaches have to choose who to pair me up with.
So far, doubles coach director Rexy Mainaky and mixed doubles coach Teo Kok Siang have made a decision to team up Tang Jie with Yap Ling as well as Choong Hon Jian and Go Pei Kee.Yen Wei was a part of the group for approximately three months alongside Hon Jian (June until August) but the partnership was not able to gain momentum.
